Following last week’s reports about the vulnerabilities in the Adhaar Identification system used in India, an additional layer of security is being rolled out.
There is speculation that ransomware is on the rise in healthcare because healthcare providers are willing to pay the ransom to unlock data. For example, following a ransomware attack, Hancock Health paid four Bitcoins. Meanwhile, another healthcare provider suffered an unspecified and vague data breach that affected almost 280,000 Medicaid patients.
